Cardiac Rehabilitation
Cardiac Rehabilitation helps patients return to a quality of life that is equal to, or even better than, before cardiac disease. The physicians and surgeons of the Kentucky Heart Institute recommend participation in a cardiac rehabilitation program because studies have shown it reduces the risk of having a second heart attack and of dying of heart disease in the three years following a cardiac event. Benefits of cardiac rehabilitation are many, including improved cardiovascular function, better diet and nutrition, increased stamina and an increased sense of well being and reduced fear about one's heart health.
Coumadin Services
Many heart patients are prescribed anticoagulant medication (blood thinners) as part of their medical management. Because maintaining proper blood levels of these medications is important, the physicians of the Kentucky Heart Institute and King's Daughters Medical Center have partnered to provide clinics throughout the region.
